TUORO, Umbria
A large stone built farmhouse situated in a small farming village on the gentle hills overlooking the north shore of Lake Trasimeno. The owners estate includes olive groves and vineyards which you are invited to tour along with free wine tasting evenings and in the summer open air picnics are arranged to dine on home made pizzas. There is a small bar/restaurant in the cellars beneath the villa where you can sample wine, home-made marmalade, honey and of course olive oil.
Accommodation:
There are eight apartments, each one has been tastefully renovated in a traditional Umbrian style. The rooms are spacious, tastefully furnished and comfortable with much of the original architectural character including beamed ceilings, solid wood doors and tiled floors. The apartments vary in size according to the number of bedrooms and can sleep between 2 to 6 persons with additional sofa beds. Each apartment has an independent entrance, a sitting room with SAT TV, kitchenette with fitted cupboards and an oven as well as a tiled bathroom with shower.

Within the well maintained grounds there is a large swimming pool (14 x 6m), baby pool, play equipment and table tennis. Within 2 to 3 kms you can reach the sandy beaches at Tuoro and Passignano, on the shore of Lake Trasimeno. Here you can hire pedalos, loungers and umbrellas, wind surfing equipment, canoes and sailing boats. There are regular ferries to the islands whilst horse riding, tennis, bicycles and quad bikes are also available nearby. Casa Colonica is in an ideal location to visit the cultural sites of Umbria and Tuscany, you can be in Florence (110kms) in just over an hour, Assisi is 50kms, Arezzo 40kms and Siena 74kms. The local villages have shops, supermarkets, restaurants and weekly markets.
Notes:
Price includes initial cleaning, gas, electricity and all linen. Heating is based on consumption, if required. A charge of 40 euros is required to be paid to the owner for final cleaning. A returnable security/damage deposit is required on arrival of 150 euros and is repaid subject to any damages. Laundry 5 euros. Extra beds available for some apartments for 25 euros. Cots available.
